Is
Glulam Renewable?
Yes
Glulam timber is a totally renewable material, harvested from selected
natural spruce and pine, which are then sawn to size and dried. These
laminates are subsequently glued together under closely monitored factory
conditions, increasing the natural strength of the timber. This makes
good use of the material leading to less waste. The Glulam timbers are
used for many building applications and will last for years. In future
years when the buildings are dismantled the frames can be reused or
taken to factories to produce energy. The timber used in the manufacture
of our products is from managed forests, ensuring that new planting
replaces all trees that are felled.
Infact
more trees are grown than are cut down. The CO² (carbon dioxide)
in the atmosphere are absorbed by the trees, this process is called
photosynthesis.
The results are all positive measures which ensure we help the environment.
